1:50 detail of the circulation space in the glass making centre, Scarborough.  Interior concrete walls have been cast using rough-sawn timber shuttering to leave an imprint of the timber grain the walls.  The have also been stained with an iron ore pigment with matches to the steel I-beams.  This gives the sense of stepping into a furnace.

Construction assembly of the glass making centre,  The building consists of cast-in-situ load bearing concrete walls and pile foundations.  Steel beams support the concrete floor plates which have large voids in them.
