"He seemed to be a genuinely kind man- when he wasn't killing." Helen Morrison, M.D., referring to Ed Gein in her book "My Life Among the Seriel Killers"
In this eleventh installment in the Maggie O'Dell series, Maggie and Tully are on the hunt for a particularly gruesome serial killer.
When a work crew unearths human remains, Maggie and Tully investigate and discover a mass grave. With the help of Ryder Creed, a man looking for his sister who disappeared years ago and who also has a trained cadaver dog.
There are also personal issues in the background. Gwen must confront a serial arsonist and deal with some disturbing personal news.
There could be a little romance on the horizon for Maggie as well.
This was one scary story. This killer is really creepy and it's a stunner when we discover the indentity of the killer. It's been a long time since I've read a dark mystery like this one. While the scenes described are not for the faint of heart, I enjoy a tough, gritty, crime story. The Maggie O'Dell series is always one you can count on.
This is a solid addition to the series.
Overall an A.Stranded by Alex Kava - A Maggie O'Dell Novel is a 2013 Doubleday/Random House publication. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
