The L-5 was one of two American liaison aircraft of World War II that was purpose-built for military with no civilian counterpart. The type saw extensive use during the Korean War by the USAAF, US Marines, and US Navy. Over 3,800 were built from 1942-1945 with many serving with the Royal Air Force, India, Pakistan and Italy along with many other nations.
