With the retirement of Michele Bachmann imminent, I always wondered who would take the lead and become her successor as the de facto head of the Tea Party caucus. There are plenty of well-qualified individuals who have crafted an image and reputation based off conspiracies, unbridled rage and renegade lunacy so the caucus is definitely not suffering through a shortage of potential prospects.
You could make the case that Louie Gohmert, Trent Franks, Scott Garrett and Steve Stockman all are able to slide right in. You would be right and if recent comments are any indication, all four of those gentleman have made their cases for Lord of the Tea, but none of them hold a stick to Steve King.
Based off of Steve King’s comments today, the Iowa Republican felt the heat and one-upped them with a disgraceful Twitter temper tantrum today. Let’s provide some background first before we get to Rep. King. Last year, President Obama granted some teenagers a temporary reprieve from deportation. Since we are in the midst of high school graduation season, some people who would be deported if King has his way in not allowing any undocumented immigrants with work papers (or having them in the country period) decided to pay the Congressman a visit today.
Well, King took to Twitter to complain about them and here’s what he said:
20 brazen self professed illegal aliens have just invaded my DC office. Obama’s lawless order gives them de facto immunity from U.S. law.
Whoa. To see what “brazen self-professed illegal aliens” look like, click on the Huffington Post story here.
Good ole’ Steve King, picking up where Michele Bachmann will leave off. Spreading fear, ignorance and hatred in 140 characters or less.
