Stephen Pulvirent at Paul Stuart

By Dieworkwear @dieworkwear

If you didn’t already know, Paul Stuart has been running their fall season’s Mad for Plaid campaign, where six bloggers and fashion editors have been invited to rig up mannequins for the company’s flagship store in New York City. They’ve also documented the process through a series of promotional videos, where such invited guests are shown chatting about plaids and tweeds while they put together their displays. Videos released so far include Nick Sullivan and Lawrence Schlossman, and I Imagine the clip of John Tinseth isn’t too far away.

Today’s video features a good friend of mine, Stephen Pulvirent, originally known to many of us as the writer behind The Simply Refined (easily one of my favorite blogs, though less updated nowadays). Now he principally writes for Hodinkee and The Rake, where he talks about wristwatches and fine tailoring. He’s one of the few people I know who writes well, writes substantively, and writes about things in menswear that I find exciting. Great to see him featured.

You may notice Stephen’s navy, windowpane flannel sport coat, by the way. That’s actually part of a suit made by Paul Stuart’s new custom clothing program, started by Mark Rykken. The cloth has a very Gianni Agnelli feel to it, and reminds me of a London Lounge Cloth Club run of flannel that was described with the same name. Really nice stuff, Stephen.
