Need a new earworm track? Step Rockets have you covered with “Kisser”, the Minneapolis band’s second single. Describing their sound as “Pink Floyd and The Clash playing at an MGMT party” definitely rings true with this track, which features heavy stadium synths and soulful leather-pants vocals made complete with a sexy guitar solo. The other track they’ve put out, “If You Tried”, is way less intense, using more psychedelic, world music vibes. Listening to both songs back-to-back, I’ve got no idea what to expect next from Step Rockets, but I’m not thinking about it too much as I hit repeat on “Kisser” (the song hit the #1 spot on Hype Machine for a reason!). Download it for free above, then get started with the inevitable, which is obviously falsetto scream-singing that chorus in public places.
