A finishing school novel with a steampunk twist
I finished Curtsies & Conspiracies immediately after completing Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger. Both feature Sophronia, a student in a finishing school that turns out to be a secret school for girls with abilities to be spies. There are werewolves and vampires and steampunk elements so these books qualify for Once Upon a Time VIII at Stainless Steel Droppings. I’ll write up a review for some future British Isles Friday post.
Reading
I made it to the traveler’s tips and recommendations section of the DK Eyewitness Travel book, Great Britain. I hope they have some secret for driving safely on the wrong side of the road.
The Unwilling Bride by Jo Beverley, my current e-book on my phone, provided my new word for Wednesday. Do you know what you buy from a costermonger?
In the evening, I’m switching between The Diet Fix by Yoni Freedhoff (very helpful, but requiring some paradigm shifts that are taking me some time to implement) and A Poetry Handbook by Mary Oliver (April is National Poetry Month).
Will Read
Since I enjoyed Gail Carriger so much, I’m going to go back and read her other series, The Parasol Protectorate, that begins with the book Soulless.
