Station to Station

I’m very much in a traveling mood lately. Berlin, Copenhagen, New York, London, I’m already in the mood for a new trip after these 4 in the last 2 months! For now I’ll have to stick to looking at other people traveling though (my entire instagram feed is at NYFW) because I don’t have anything planned yet, but who knows what the next trip will be. Right now I’m drooling over these pictures below from a trip called Station to Station. Led by curator Doug Aitken a colorful group of internationally respected artists and musicians is traveling from New York to San Francisco by train between 6 and 28 September. The trip is hosted by Levi’s and Sef (Dutch music artist) and Tess Milne (Dutch actress) are joining from the Netherlands and reporting from this great Levi’s trip. At every of the 10 stops they make, there’s a big festival taking place. Here’s some of their pictures from the first part of the trip.

Sef: ‘We’re traveling with musicians, artists, filmmakers from all over the world. The trip kicks off in New York where we have dinner with Jonathan Kirby, Levi’s number 1 menswear designer who told us about Levi Strauss that made the same trip from New York to San Francisco. On the second day we head to Brooklyn for the kick off party at Riverside Studios. An amazing location with an unbelievably gorgeous sunset. This trip is all about bringing the unexpected together, throw a bunch of creative people on a train and see what happens. I pretty good idea, if you ask me. The party was great. There were no rules and it was all about surprises and meeting other people and experiences. There was video art, installations, hipsters and hotdogs. ‘It’s so bizarre that we get to be here and be part of this project. I can’t wait for all the other random meetings and artsy experiences that are coming!’

I’m very curious about the rest of their trip, taking the train from NY to San Francisco with a bunch of creative people is recipe for important stories! You can follow this journey with Levi’s right here on Lovely By Lucy.
