father Obi-Wan? Apparently, Rey was not always related to Emperor Palpatine how she was revealed to be in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. According to the actor Daisy Ridleytheir mysterious character was once connected Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.
While speaking with Josh Gad about Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday, Ridley said that at some point during the development of the Star Wars trilogy films, Rey would actually be a direct descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi, not Palpatine.

"In the beginning they played with an Obi-Wan connection," said Ridley. "There were different versions and at one point she was nobody ... it kept changing."
But in the end, the Lucasfilm Story Group dropped Rey Kenobi's idea. For the first two films with Rey, The Force Awakens, and The Last Jedi, their parentage was a mystery. It wasn't up Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that it turned out that Rey was connected to Palpatine instead of the Jedi Master.
The Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker Novel revealed that Rey's father was a "not entirely identical clone" of Palpatine, one of many born as eternal Sith cultists, tried to create "a cradle for their God-consciousness". The clone was "a useless, powerless mistake" from Palpatine's point of view, but was allowed to live so that it could continue the bloodline naturally. The novella reveals nothing about Rey's mother.
When the news came that Rey could have been a Kenobi, fans had a lot to say about what could have been.
I've seen versions of it all day, it keeps pissing me off because it just tells me there was no plan.
Didn't complete the main character's backstory before starting a multi-billion dollar trilogy?
They just made it up as they moved on.

To be honest, I think I would have preferred that. In fact, it was my early hopeful theory, mostly because I love the Obi / Satine story and it would have been nice if they hadn't both died tragically.

The idea that Rey was almost a Kenobi actually kills me. It would have made a lot more sense if we had Rey Kenobi. The circle would have come full. A Kenobi who saves a Skywalker from the dark, which was previously not possible. Can you imagine the potential?

Rey Kenobi would have been better than Rey Palpatine, but at the end of the day I still don't want it. We are sorry.
SHE DON'T HAVE TO BE CONNECTED TO A POWERFUL MAN
