Star Citizen - Expanding the Console 2.0 - Making the Game More Mainstream

take it all back
back to how it used to be
back to more innocent times of 2.6

Knee-jerk reaction, make Star Citizen a third person game.
I know Chris says it's supposed to be a first-person game but there are so many reasons why... sorry, the only thing that makes sense to me is to have this game as a third-person 70/30 first-person gaming experience. When you're third person you see your shadow, you feel conected to the world or ship or wherever you are. You're not just a 'floaty camera'. You're a real person, dressed in civvies or mils. You're a glorious ship coursing through the stars. You can land your ship. You have a sense of proximity, and the art looks gorgeous.
First person has its place, in the Console 2.0 experience.
What I'm really keen on though is this... an enhancement to the Quantum Engine targeting from HUD-less QT-key post which totally negates all this MobiGlas StarMap nonsense.
Might be better to have QE-targeting as a button click. Click QT-key = ON. Click QT-key = OFF.
If QT-key clicked ON, scroll on the mouse wheel at panel #3 means zoom into extra levels of a target. Planet > moons > stations etc. if there is that option. Keep scrolling all the way to panel #5.

If you can see the sub-destinations this means you've already Spooled Quantum Engine. Click the mouse button means GO THERE NOW (obstructed or not) start the Q.E.RechargeTimer. Immediacy of intent, more like the way SC 2.6 used to work. Insta-control on Quantum Travel exit. Solid. Easy. No mucking about.
Scroll back (twice) will bring you back to panel #3
Click QT-key = OFFat any level of the hierarchy.
