Spring is Here

By Melissak

Here in sunny South Africa spring has finally sprung and boy is it beautiful.  The flowers look brighter, the bees look happier and the ladybugs have arrived.  Its not like we have ridiculously cold winters here, its always rather pleasant, but in Johannesburg winters consists of insanely dry conditions.  Seeing everything brown for so long can be a rather depressing sight, but that’s all behind us now and winter I’ll see you on the flip side later.

The weekend was filled with fun activities, on Saturday we went to Garden World in Muldersdrift, it was a lovely experience to look at all the staged gardens and just being in such a lovely place.  It had something for everyone and its a great place to take kids or family.  It’s got a petting zoo, filled with pigs, goats, chickens, bunnies, ducks and they even have a peacock, if you get thirsty they have a tranquil tea garden with lovely options for everyone.  My favorite part was the second hand shop.  It was filled with old and quirky stuff that would make everyone’s heart beat a little bit faster.

If you don’t believe me just look at these photos.

This is an old school soda tray planter.
