Spring Is Almost Here! I’m So Ready To Redecorate!

By Simone Design Blog @HomeSpire

Last week my garden teased me with its first flower of the year: a crocus blossom. I was so happy to see that first sign of spring: a burst of yellow color in an otherwise brown yard.

I am so ready for spring! I want to feel the warmth of the sun! I want to open the windows and listen to the birds chirping. I want to smell the fragrance of the hyacinths in my garden. I want to see all those bright beautiful colors that say spring is here. I want light and airy accents. I want the beauty of nature’s colors to inspire me inside my home. Spring starts in about a month (March 20th) and I’d love to have some new, colorful accents in the house by then.

Pantone has some absolutely lovely colors, shown below, for the spring season. Of course, we all know that their color for the year is Emerald Green. These spring colors are so vibrant that they’ll give any home a breath of fresh air. It’s too difficult to have to choose just one color for your home, so be bold and use one in each room or mix and match.

My husband and I plan to do some remodeling this year, so I’ve been on the prowl for decorating ideas to help me choose which color scheme(s) to incorporate into my home. I’ve put together some pictures from each of the ten colors in the Pantone 2013 spring collection.

For spring, pastel colors are the most popular shades used. I’m planning to update our bedroom linens this year and African Violet would be a perfect color for them! It just says spring, don’t you think? It’s very inviting.

I can always go with green colors in my accent pieces. This color reminds me of life’s renewal, it’s so fresh! In the picture below, I like how the trees are positioned behind the window, making a perfect backdrop. Isn’t that additional pop of color in the lemon sorbet cushion eye-catching? Of course the blue hydrangeas are just as lovely. This room uses 3 of the 10 Pantone 2013 spring colors.

This living room space is so visually pleasing and very art deco. It’s so bright and sunny from all that natural light coming in. This room has given me an idea to mix and match my shades of blue. I like those blue and gold cushions.

This rug just says “spring”! I can see it in my living room or master bedroom. The floral pattern adds an extra visual appeal to the room. I’m already imagining how nice it would look with a vase of tulips or peonies.

What is there not to love in this bedroom? Everything is so serene. The pastels are just beautiful!

Sometimes, simply changing the artwork can brighten up your room.

Painting your walls a warm color of linen can also brighten up your room. You can pair this color with a soft pink.

I’ve only just scratched the surface in this post. When it comes to accessorizing your home for spring, there are endless possibilities!

I hope you’re looking forward to spring as much as I am. Now that I’ve given you some ideas on how you can add spring color accents, perhaps you’ll be inspired to make your home bright and cheerful for the upcoming season.
