Linde Werdelin combines analog and digital technology to form the most effective sport watches and diving instruments in the world. The brand was created by founders Jorn Werdelin and Morten Linde. Werdelin is the driving force behind the brand and his family has generations of experience in the fine-jewelry business. Linde is the creative mind behind some of the company’s most innovative products.
Adversity and Innovation
The origins of the Linde Werdelin brand sprang from adversity. Jorn Werdelin, an avid skier and sports enthusiast, was skiing is 1996 when he was blown off course due to bad weather. He subsequently skied off a cliff and broke his back. He was eventually rescued but the event inspired him. From there he set out to develop a new kind of sport watch.
In 2002, Werdelin joined forces with Linde to develop highly crafted sport watches and diving instruments. These watches and instruments were intended to provide skiers and divers with the right information, at the right time. On the official Linde Werdelin website, Linde is quoted as saying, “analogue is the best way to read time; digital is how you assimilate technical details”.
Sport Watches and Instruments
Linde Werdelin watches have distinctive angular cases and indentations at three and nine o’clock to hold watches in place. The Spido and Oktopus watch lines have a very modern, high-tech aesthetic and sophistication. The Spido line draws inspiration from a race car chassis. The Oktopus line is the ideal timepiece for modern diving. The Instrument Family is led by The Rock (Ski Instrument) and The Reef (dive instrument). Both instruments have extensive features for measuring environmental conditions and displaying time.
Linde Werdelin sprang from adversity and has a tradition of excellence. Its timepieces and instruments are world renowned. Raymond Lee Jewelers can assist you with finding world-class timepieces, instruments and fine-jewelry.
