Having a dark-horse-soul, which is something I just made up, I've always been given to spending time with the moon, watching butterflies float by, weaving deep-end thoughts, taking rambles in the woods, and so on. I hate being this way sometimes, but it is who I am.

In my bookish life, I am always drawn to characters who are melancholy, troubled, and morose ... like Michael Henchard in Hardy's, "The Mayor of Casterbridge," Anne Shirley in, "Anne of Green Gables," and Jean Val Jean in "Les Miserables."In the real world, I stare at the moon often and listen to the chatter of birds. I can be chatty and loud in life, but more often than not, I prefer stillness.
"I am a warrior of quiet." ~ Brooke Schmidt
It's in the quiet time that thoughts spill out and I start to understand who I am. Who I was made to be. I'm learning to accept it, one day with the moon at a time.
