Special Programme for International Yoga Day

Indian High Commission of Sri Lankan has organised a special program to mark the International Yoga Day on June 21, yesterday at its premises in Torrighton Square, Colombo 07.

The International Yoga Day commemorate from 2015 June 21 which was suggested by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe was the chief guest at the International Yoga Day program while Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe was the special guest at this occasion.

The Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe said at this occasion,”Yoga always provide good benefit for human life to maintain their body healthy and we must give our special thanks to Indian High Commission for organising this type of program to mark the International Yoga Day.

Yoga introduced from our neighbor country India from ancient times while it is very helpful to develop both physical and mental fitness for the humans. In addition it’s helpful to have a healthy body and Yoga always keep you fit in mind too. With this International Yoga Day we’d like to bring you the good message of yoga’s benefits, said Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe.

The Sports Minister also added from last 2015 India and Sri Lanka have strengthened their relationship with this Yoga day and Minister also have an idea to promote Yoga thorough sports personalities. (D.R)
