If you like yourself some funky-ass jazz then you definitely want to check out the up and coming Chicago trio Spare Parts. They have a brand new self-titled album due out this January on Ropeadope and their sound is a modern blend of jazz, funk and rock (they have an updated synth and bass-heavy Weather Report kind of sound going on).
