Southern Hospitality with Hen House Linens

By Vsudarsan

I'm happy to introduce southern hospitality to you with Hen House Linens today. North Carolina native and a former pilot Jennifer Davids, teamed up with her college roommate and graphic designer Katherine Poole to introduce a line called "Hen House Linens". Jennifer stated this company with a desire to re-visit her roots as a child, when elegant table linens were used at the family table.

I love what "The Hens" have to say about hospitality - "It's all about making the people you welcome into your home feel comfortable and cared for. (This includes the people that live at home with you!) It's that intangible feeling that makes you want to linger at the dinner table or pull up a chair and visit. It's about hospitality without feeling stuffy or too proper. It's knowing that this time right now is special."

I also like what Jennifer has to say about their linens - "Our patterns are simple, the colors are complementary. This way, our customers can mix and match the pieces. My hope is that people will build a collection of our linens to use not only for special occasions but in their everyday lives as well." All of their creations - table cloths, runners, aprons, potholders, towels, pillows, etc.- are 100% cotton, will stand up to several washings, and have bright colors that stay and do not bleed. I can come up with several ideas to playfully mix, match, and layer these to create a welcoming and stylish setting.

I received a few samples from Henhouse Linens to review, and I surprised my family with this welcoming dining room decor.. We now plan to use this as a family tradition for special events, even if the runner is just fine for everyday use. I hope you enjoyed my post and I hope that this is something you might consider to brighten up your home or add to your bridal registry...
