The dark and satirical American animated sitcom, South Park, recently took a sharp jab at rapper and singer Lizzo. In the latest episode, titled ‘The End of Obesity,’ the 36-year-old artist was referenced in an Ozempic joke. Her name was humorously used as an alternative to the well-known weight-loss medication, likely due to her outspoken stance on body positivity.

The episode features Eric Cartman persuading his doctor to prescribe Ozempic. Unable to afford the drug, his doctor suggests an alternative: Lizzo.

In the episode, the doctor says,

“I’m going to prescribe Lizzo for you. She’s a fantastic singer who promotes body positivity and self-acceptance. Listen to her music five times a day and watch her videos before bed. You’ll need to follow this regimen for the rest of your life.”

Additionally, the fictional FDA credentials on the medicine claimed,

“Lizzo allows you to eat whatever you want while minimizing physical activity… discontinue listening to Lizzo if you experience suicidal thoughts. Severe side effects may include pancreatitis, hypothermia, and literally s****ing out of your ears.”

The episode primarily focused on celebrities endorsing weight-loss drugs and included jabs at the American healthcare system’s inaccessibility for some people.

Lizzo responded to this comedic episode with a reaction video on TikTok. The Grammy Award-winning singer said,

“That’s crazy. I just feel like, damn, I’m really that b**ch.”

She added,

“I truly demonstrated how to love yourself and not care about others’ opinions to the extent that these men in Colorado know who I am and featured it in their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.”
