South Denver Beer Festival 2014

By Colorado Beer Girl @colobeergirl

Last weekend was the second annual South Denver Beer Festival at Clement Park in Littleton. It was a weekend of nice weather, beautiful scenery, and lots of great Colorado breweries, distilleries, and more.

South Denver Beer Fest hosted a good mix of breweries old and new. Some have been around for years, such as Great Divide, Wynkoop, and Avery, to name a few. And there were some that haven’t  even open yet, like Zephyr Brewing and 4 Noses (which I believe is opening today, May 8, in Broomfield).

Kannah Creek Brewing Company’s display

I enjoyed drinking some of my favorites as well as trying beers from breweries that I hadn’t yet experienced until this festival. One thing–besides the beer–I enjoy at festivals are the displays some breweries have at their pouring stations, like the one above from Kannah Creek.

Is there a legal drinking age for squirrels?

My personal favorite display was from Black Bottle. As a huge fan of both beer and squirrels, I just loved this! Fun (non-beer related) fact about me: I once spent 6 hours (over the course of 2 days) in my fireplace to rescue a trapped one. I finally grabbed hold of it with my gloved hand, pulled it out and set it free.

I have been to South Denver Beer Festivals for two years now, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys beer fests. It’s outdoors, very spacious, and fun! If you haven’t attended one yet, don’t miss it next year!

Pouring beer is hard work!
