The Our Lady of Peñafrancia Seminary (OLPS) Alumni Foundation will hold its general alumni homecoming on Oct. 27 in connection with the 67th anniversary of the seminary.
Highlight of the reunion will be the concelebrated Mass to be officiated by Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes.
Main agenda of the general assembly of the OLPS Alumni Foundation is the first regional gathering of Bicolano former seminarians on Dec. 7 and 8 in Legazpi City.
During the general assembly, alumni from the St. Gregory the Great Seminary of the Diocese of Albay and the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary of the Archdiocese of Nueva Caceres in Naga City will join the OLPS alumni meeting to present plans on the regional conference, said OLPS Alumni Foundation president Augusto Cubias.
This year’s OLPS reunion host is Batch ’87, headed by its batch president, Chief Insp. Renato Marcial, the former national spokesperson of the Bureau of Fire Protection. “The seminary formators, headed by Fr. Joseph Erestain, will also present projects for the seminary which aim to gain support from its alumni,” Marcial said.
Other activities include the alumni general assembly, batch reunions and the fellowship night, where the reunion theme song, “Maranghudan (Brotherhood),” composed by Oscar Jesus Lucero and Joseph John Perez of Batch ’87, will be performed.
OLPS alumni are invited to attend the Oct. 27 homecoming. Registration is free and will start at 7 a.m. Call Gerald Angeles 0928-7880019.
