Basically, this new feature adds a small “Buy” call-to-action button alongside on ads and Page posts, that users can click to buy the product directly from a business, through Facebook. The social giant assures that user information, such as payment details, will be safe in the company hands.
“We’ve built this feature with privacy in mind, and have taken steps to help make the payment experience safe and secure. None of the credit or debit card information people share with Facebook when completing a transaction will be shared with other advertisers, and people can select whether or not they’d like to save payment information for future purchases,” Facebook wrote on a news article.
However, collecting payment information appears to be the main goal behind this new venture for Facebook. In addition, this new feature will make Facebook advertising much more appealing to businesses as well. Whether you’re running a business or not, you will be spending a lot of money on Facebook in the near future.
