Social Security

And the federal government owes a LOT of money to the Social Security Trust Fund. That's why they keep talking about cutting benefits for retirees -- not because the system couldn't easily be funded fully, but because the politicians don't want to have to pay back all that money. They borrowed that money to give rich people and corporations tax cuts, and to pay it back they know they would also have to take those tax cuts back (and that would hurt their own campaign funding). Don't let the politicians get away with this. If they cut benefits (or privatize Social Security), it would be the same as stealing from American workers (who pay into Social Security all of their working lives).
