A short excerpt from the “Minimanual of the Urban Guerilla” by Brazilian guerrilla fighter Carlos Marighella, died 1950. This piece is an excerpt is from Book V called “Revolt.” This chapter pertains to “The struggle to abolish injustice; the battle cries of the new army which is gathering for the deliverance of humanity.”

It is necessary to turn crisis into armed crisis by performing violent actions that will force those in power to transform the military situation into a political situation. That will alienate the masses, who, from then on, will revolt against the army and the police and blame them for this state of thing.
