72,909 is the number to beat as itison launches annual Social Bite fundraiser

Itison has launched its third annual festive fundraiser for Social Bite aiming to beat the 72,909 meals donated last Christmas which totalled over £364,545 in just one week.

Itison CEO Oli Norman said: "We've been totally overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of our members who've donated enough to feed more than 100,000 homeless people across Scotland on Christmas Day and beyond over the past two years.

"This year we want to take that even further by supporting Social Bite's Homeless Village initiative - a ground-breaking experiment aiming to break the cycle of homelessness for good. Our fundraiser has captured the public's imagination and we're urging everyone to dig deep with the goal to achieve something that has the power to change people's lives for the better."

Social Bite's Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen cafes will be opening their doors to the homeless on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to serve Christmas dinners with all the trimmings, offering food and company at what is one of the loneliest times of the year for many.

To donate £5 to buy a Christmas dinner for a homeless person (a great idea for a Secret Santa or stocking filler that does good) - visit www.itison.com

100% of money raised will be donated to Social Bite.
