So Far Away was released as a single in April of 1986 from the band’s fifth studio album, Brothers in Arms. It spent 14 weeks on the chart making #19 on the Hot 100 and #6 on Adult Contemporary. It also made the top 10 in Sweden, Switzerland, and Norway.
