Holy Mother Nature! A snow storm in March always challenges us a bit… we are ready for spring, desperately awaiting that moment when we can shed a few layers and enjoy a little warmth but Mother Nature always wants to remind us… it’s not over yet!
While the usual daily activities are a bit more difficult during a snow storm, this weather also makes the perfect setting for a few different things, mostly cooking, lounging and relaxing! Today’s Friday Faves features Favorite Things to enjoy on a Snow Day!
Snow Gear: If you are forced out into this weather, your choice of shoe is vital to your survival! I often feel so stressed when walking through snow. I never realize I am holding my breath as I am walking until I reach my destination, all the while, fearing the almost inevitable fall! Good Snow Boots! Cute snow boots! My Sorel snow boots are my go to on days like today. Cute, comfy and safe!
FURRRRR: I love fur… once the snow stops and it is just really cold, time to keep warm with my favorite fur coat or hat or stole or earmuffs… lol… usually not all together!
Vermont: It’s always fun to enjoy a snow day where you can appreciate nature and the beauty of winter. Lake Bomoseen is favorite place to do just that! The first time I saw this lake I was amazed by the beauty and intrigue of a HUGE frozen lake! (Louisiana Girl factor)
Speaking of Louisiana Girl Factor… Of course when it snows, you need a meal that keeps you warm! Gumbo is a snow day favorite!
Relaxing, Wine and DIY Pampering: If you choose to stay in, relaxing, wine and some DIY pampering are perfect snow evening activities.
While enjoying your warm meal and wine, take the time to DIY pamper yourself! Put on a face masque, deep condition your hair and prepare to be bright, shiny and refreshed when the snow melts! Indian Healing Clay makes for a great facial. Your skin will be revitalized! Mix it with another fave, apple cider vinegar and experience its greatness.
A Fireplace and a Cocktail: If you like being out than spending a snow evening at home, a cozy bar with a fireplace is definitely the way to go! Here’s a list of great places to enjoy the evening!
However you decide to spend the evening, be safe, be warm and enjoy! Happy Friday! xoxo-Kellie
