SnickerDoodle Spider Cookies

This very American Style cookie called a SnickerDoodle is actually delicious, specially if you like the hint of cinnamon on a thick crumbly chewy soft cookies.

A snicker doodle is a cookie made with butter, sugar, flour cinnamon, cream of tartar and baking soda to leaven the dough. Snickerdoodle have a cracked surface and can be soft or crunchy depending on your how you like your cookies.

There is no dough chilling required, no fancy ingredients and no secret tips needed. These are just throw into a mixer in order, make the dough, bake and that's it! Simples!

Turning these snickerdoodle into a spider was soo easy, once baked and out the oven add a chocolate ball straight away, so it starts to melt and binds with the cookie, then allow the cookies to cool completely before piping on the legs and eyes.

Ingredients
375g Caster Sugar
200g Butter
2 Eggs
500g Plain Flour
2 Tsp Cream of Tartar
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Cinnamon
Chocolate Balls
Melted Chocolate

Add sugar and butter to a mixing ball and cream together, then add eggs and beat the mixture.

Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon to the mixer.

Mix until the cookie dough is smooth.

Roll the up a small amount of dough, about 2 tablespoons into a ball, flatten slightly and press your thumb into the middle to create an indent.

Bake in the oven at 190c for about 15 minutes until slightly brown and well risen, once they come out of the cool, transfer onto a cooling rack and add a chocolate ball to the middle allowing to melt a little.

Pipe on some chocolate legs and white chocolate eyes, and allow to cool completely.
