Calabogie Country Music Festival

After a massively successful inaugural year the Class Axe Guitars Calabogie Country Music Festival, affectionately known as Bogie Country to its fans, is back again for 2014.  Earlier today the festival announced the first part of its 2014 Lineup with the Small Town Pistols and everyone’s favorite country party band Ambush on the bill so far.

Small Town Pistols – Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson

When most Canadian country music fans hear the names Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson they immediately think of the band The Wilkinson’s in which Amanda and Tyler shared the stage with their father Steve throughout the 90s.  Well times have changed and both Amanda and Tyler have grown up and their latest project is Country duo The Small Town Pistols.  Named after the small but powerful family matriarch whose spirit Amanda seemed to inherit. “People would say, ‘You’re like Grandma Ida,’ she says. “’She was a pistol!’” Fans of The Wilkinson’s will find that the Small Town Pistols bring an entirely new and different sound to the table there’s a newfound sophistication and scope at work here.  For more on the Small Town Pistols visit them on Facebook!  Their latest single is called “Anthem of a Runaway”!

Ambush

When it comes to festivals and special events around eastern Ontario there is one band that always comes to mind and that band is Ambush.  Since their inception over 20 years ago Ambush has rocked the stages of countless festivals and special events all across the region and they don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.  Famous for their live shows, Ambush has built an intensely loyal fan base in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. The Ambush Army is a quarter of a million fans strong and still growing! Performing more than 200 shows per year, and having performed to over one million people in the past five years, Ambush continues to captivate crowds of all ages.  www.getambushed.com
