Skype in UAE: How to Use? June 2023 Update

Posted on the 31 May 2023 by Silverhanna

Skype is a very popular tool for communications. It has millions of users all over the world. Unfortunately, in some countries it is blocked.

Some time ago Skype was blocked in UAE again.

Official Skype representatives said:

"It has been brought to our attention that our website and services have been blocked by both of the internet service providers in the UAE.

Unfortunately, there is very little Skype can do about this situation.

"The best course of action would be for you to speak to your ISP and ask why they are blocking Skype and request that they unblock our site and services."

There are many Skype alternatives like WhatsApp, Facebook call or Viber. But most of them are also restricted in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other Emirates.

All these call services and applications are not licensed in the UAE.

Below is an official answer from authorities :

"Voice over internet protocol are considered part of the UAE's regulated activities.

"The TRA has granted licensed operators the eligibility to provide such services across their networks. Companies wishing to provide such services should coordinate with the UAE's licensed service providers."

Luckily the problem has a very simple solution - such as the Sahrzad service. This is a secure and safe way to use Skype and other VoIP services in UAE and other Middle East countries.

You can use Skype with Sahrzad on any device like a computer, tablet or smartphone.

To unblock Skype in UAE you need:
