Now that Halloween is over, the holidays are on my mind. I mean, Christmas is THE best time of the year and so is everything that comes with it. Music, food, decorations, and DRINKS. Peppermint everything and anything? Sign me up.
Minus the calories. No me gusta the calories that come along with the holidays. That "winter coat" talk is real... and I don't mean the one hanging in your closet.
So I wanted to make my own version of skinny mint hot chocolate and voila.. and here it is!
Ingredients:
1 cup skim milk. 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder2 packets Sweet'N Low1/4 tsp mint extract
1. Heat the milk in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. (You can put it in longer if you want it hotter but don't bring to a boil)2. Mix the cocoa powder, Sweet'N low and mint extract into the milk.3. Stir until smooth4. Top with cocoa powder for garnish (or whip cream or marshmallows if you're feeling naughty)
Super easy right? I was originally looking for peppermint extract but this was the only thing my store had. I would be interested to try peppermint next time and see if it varied the "minty" taste.
Happy Holidays!
