Skin Care | Clarins Exfoliator Brightening Toner

By Megan Lillie @meganjanelillie

When exfoliating toners began to circulate the beauty world, I have to admit I was confused. I mean, how could you exfoliate with a liquid?! It really did baffle me. The fact that the Clarins Exfoliator Brightening Toner also contained alcohol made me a little bit wary to say the least. Nevertheless, I couldn't resist the hype (again) when I received a Debenhams gift card and decided to make a purchase and test it out for myself.

In the past few weeks I've seen a huge difference in my skin; Now I'm not saying it's all down to this particular product but I believe that it has helped in some light. I usually get blemishes around my chin area and am prone to spots scaring badly which can last for weeks on end. This seems to have subsided since I introduced this into my routine. This toner contains glycolic & salicylic acid, which is known in aiding acne as it exfoliates away the dead skin. By renewing these skin cells the product helps in smoothing out and brightening the skin.

It is not recommended to use such a chemical toner all the time however, so I've been using it twice a week whilst alternating it with my Lush Tea Tree Toner Water. This is because too much of the above acids can be dangerous for your skin in the long run. I really do recommend this product to those of you who suffer with blemishes/acne or just wish for a brighter complexion. I'm really glad I purchased it and will continue to use this beauty and delve more into the Clarins brand.

Have you had a good or bad experience with a chemical toner? I'd love to know if you bought into the hype too, sometimes I just can't help myself! I'd love to hear what you think in the comments below, thanks for reading!
