Six Months Old.

Happy half-birthday to my sweet little boy! I am continuously amazed at the joy I feel from experiencing new things through Everett’s eyes. Just this morning we stood outside in the rain for five whole minutes, hair soaked, hands in the air feeling each drop hit our skin. Everett was confused, and then happy, and then confused again. We danced a little and I twirled him around in our driveway, water dripping down both our faces. It was new and magical and silly and just what I needed to literally wash away the horrible day I had yesterday (think: Ev took one nap all day, left phone at starbucks, gas leak in the garage, got lost (twice!!), sat in ridiculous amounts of traffic while a certain someone screamed his head off, falalalala).

ANYWAYS, as much as I love the rain, I am also happy to be escaping it next week because we are spending Thanksgiving in Hawaii! Before you get jealous, just picture me sweating from anxiety while Everett screams bloody murder and everyone on the plane is shooting daggers of hate at me through their eyes. I hope that’s NOT the case, but I am preparing myself for the worst case scenario.

I have a couple of guest posts lined up for next week (think: recipes, yay!), but since I’ll be gone, let me be the first to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! My list of gratitude is long this year, but I am especially thankful for this online platform where I am able to share stories and pictures with you. Thank you for being here, for reading, for showing up, and for letting me be me. I am so thankful for you. Happy Thanksgiving!
