The third annual Spencerville Stampede is still months away but they are joining with other area events and announced their live entertainment lineup yesterday.
Although the primary focus of the third annual event is the rodeo they offer live entertainment each evening. Last year Keith Glass and Corey Coons took to the stage and this year the event will feature two well-known local entertainers.
Silver Creek and Brea Lawrenson
Brea Lawrenson, who is currently promoting her smash single “With You Whiskey” which can be heard on country radio coast to coast across Canada, will take to the stage on July 26 and Silver Creek, a popular group out of Ottawa who are regulars on festival stages across the region including opening for Blue Rodeo at last fall’s Spencerville Fair.
Having released three CDs in Canada, Brea is now working on her first full length album produced and recorded in Nashville. From that CD, she has already released two radio singles, “Honey” and “With You Whiskey” which are currently being played across the nation on Canadian country radio stations and overseas. Both songs have charted on the top 100. Brea’s next radio single “Bottom of The Bottle” will be released March 2014!
Ottawa based band Silver Creek came together for the first time on a farm in the spring of 2006. After few exciting rehearsals based around a handful of simple songs the band began recording and Silver Creek started to take shape. Silver Creek is one of the area’s hardest working bands. Having twice toured Canada since their formation four years ago, they have released three albums and have played alongside the likes of Lucinda Williams, Further, Tom Cochrane and Blue Rodeo. Known for their energetic and powerful live show, their evasive sound has been described as: “…strongly reminiscent of certain influences such as The Band, The Allman Brothers and Neil Young, but never coming even close to sounding like an imitation.”
The third annual event takes place July 25th to the 27th, 2014 at the Spencerville Fairgrounds in Spencerville, Ontario. For more information and tickets visit www.spencervillestampede.com.
