Silhouette, the rimless frame brand, asked three influential Italian designers what singularity was for them and what inspires them to make genuine collections.
The Austrian eyewear brand has taken advantage of the Milano Design Week 2015 to carry out this artistic project. They’ve chosen three leading Italian fashion designers and they’ve asked them to create an accessory that represents their idea of being one-of-a-kind, something inspired by the phrase “Being unique”.
Francesco Ballestrazzi, hat designer, designed a headdress, made up from a single piece, inspired by the dynamism, purity and spontaneity of a splash of water. With this metaphor, Francesco approaches simplicity and uniqueness: just like every splash of water, his work is unique; it will never repeat itself in the same way. Moreover that piece is handcrafted from a few elements, that is, technique and art blend to create something simple, beautiful and unrepeatable.
Jewelry designer Stefania Lucchetta created an original piece motivated by experiences that make every person unique. Stefania designed the Vacuum ring, a symbol of the singularity of a lifetime, a series of experiences that go around the idea of the unknown (the hole at the ring centre).
Finally, Benedetta Bruzziches, fashion handbag designer, focused on aesthetic point of view, people as one-off beings, unique, one-of-a-kind. The Italian designer came up with a very special handbag and she called it Magic Mirror. This handbag, with a mirrored included, has some inspiring inscriptions on it, like the sentence “let your thoughts shine”. When we look ourselves in a mirror, we face the things that make us unique and we wonder how we can improve and we reflect on our idea of beauty.

Titan ONE Signature Collection de Silhouette
Concepts and ideas these three Italian fashion designers have provided have crystallised in Silhouette’s new collection: Titan ONE Signature Collection. This collection distinguishes for unique designs, simple frames made from a single piece, with pure and genuine lines.
Silhouette has always lived by Leonardo Da Vinci’s quote: “What is essential is perfect”. For this reason, since 1964, season after season, the brand has revolutionized the eyewear industry, getting rid of everything that’s not necessary, keeping just the essential. Joining design and technology, they’ve developed some solutions to create light and minimalist rimless frames.
