Sigur Ros Unveil Upcoming Album and Release New Video [video]

Icelandic ambient rock gods Sigur Rós just announced details for their new album, Kveikur, to be released June 18, including the track list, cover art, extended tour dates and a new video/song. The band has said that this record is “more aggressive” than anything they’ve recorded in the past, a fact that’s clearly evident in the dark video for ”Brennisteinn”. Featuring sparse lighting and stark neon yellow imagery involving innards and smoke, the end result is disturbing yet gorgeous (not surprising since their videos have a track record for being both cinematic and evocative).
