Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is hailed as one of the pioneers in the craft beer industry. Indeed, owner Ken Grossman began his company in 1980 years before craft beer rose to its current prominence. In the years since opening his first brewery in Chico, Calif., Grossman has opened a new brewery in Mills River, N.C. that has effectively doubled the brands reach and insured fresher beer for fans on the East Coast. Now, the innovative company has teamed with the creative culinary talents of Chef Tony Charbonette at Publix Aprons Cooking School for a fun and delicious evening of food and beer paring.
Introducing the beers to be paired with each dish will be Bill Manley, Sierra Nevada’s Beer Ambassador, tasked with spreading the “Good Word” about craft beer and brewing. Manley sits on the brewery’s product development team and works to develop new beers and new brands in Sierra Nevada’s lineup from concept through finished product. As Sierra Nevada’s resident “beer geek,” Manley spends his time traveling across the country learning about beer, sampling new styles, and teaching about brewing, beer flavor profiles and historical context in the craft brewing world.
