SIBO – My Journey Continues

On Wednesday I started my third diet to try to cure my Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). Many factors led up to my diagnosis, the last being C-Dif. (Clostridium difficile)

What is SIBO?
Simply put, Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth is a chronic bacterial infection of the small intestine. The infection is of bacteria that normally live in the gastrointestinal tract but have abnormally overgrown in a location not meant for so many bacteria.

After having to travel out-of-state to have my blood drawn, it was sent to Florida to the LEAP laboratory for MRT testing.  I am now ready to embark on my immunocalm diet. It is extremely limited so I need to get extremely creative!

Today I made buckwheat flat bread, I got the recipe from Chef De Home. Ingredients where simple, buckwheat flour, sea salt and water. I brushed them with a little clarified butter.

Yes, they are supposed to be that color! Now I have to get creative again to concoct something I can eat them with! I’m thinking I will make a grilled chicken sandwich with them.

SIBO sucks and needs to be cured through nutrition. It is very tricky to get it just right, to stop feeding the bad bacteria. I sure hope this new immunocalm diet will do the trick!
