This is my first time reading the author. I haven'tread the first book, Sherlock Holmes vs. Cthulhu: The Adventure of theDeadly Dimensions and I feel I missed out because of this. There arereferences to the first book that totally went passed me and I had a feeling Iwas missing a large chunk of the story. I enjoyed a lot of the book but thereare chunks where I felt events were just being set up for the third book anddidn't really go anywhere. I'm a huge fan of Lovecraft and this book is verytrue to Lovecraftian elements. I felt this was even truer than the Sherlockelements which didn't work so well. Holmes is quite a different character thanhe usually is and this doesn't always work. Still, this was a fun read. Somecrazy shit happens and that's always good.
