She Is The Woman ...

We've always been fascinated by strong women in this industry, and with our latest find being from someone we actually critiqued a while ago for being a tad too generic, this is exactly what we were searching for as a response. You may remember Roxanne Jones from a fair few months ago, when we wrote about her single, Living A Lie.
Our main concerns with her last single were that it didn't have enough originality about it. It sounded as though it had been washed by the X Factor producers on the winning single, whereby, every contestant whom has ever won sings as though they've traveled so far and all of the burdens etc. ect. Don't get us wrong, we were not slating her, she has one of the most spectacular voices, and you'll most definitely see what she can do in her new track, I Am A Woman.
The easiest way to put it is that this is everything we could have asked her to do, and then some. The bass is strong and hits you from the off-go as if it is the main percussion ... but oh no, that's an intense and infectious clapping. She then furthers with her signature use of classical instruments, but totally jazzes them up to perfection ... and then there's that vocal.
It's really easy to pick independent and inspirational female names out of the hat: Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Kylie, Madonna - the list goes on - but with this track alone, we dpon't see any reason why Roxanne Jones can't be added to that list.
There's something feisty, inspirational, sexy, and courageous about it all, and we're absolutely stunned by the change she has managed to make in such a short time. There's no doubt in our mind that this is the way that Roxanne Jones should be going, and before long, we suspect that the whole world will be catching on and signing up.
