At the weekend, my sister and I headed to Seaham Hall for a little pamper afternoon. For Christmas last year we were both kindly gifted a voucher from a family member to use on any treatment/spa visit, something we've never done before and a really nice surprise. With work and life getting in the way (as you know it does) it took us a while to get organised but we both finally settled on our treatments. My sister, Lucy, having the Serenity Wellbeing Massage and I opted for the Elemis Exotic Coconut and Milk Ritual Wrap.
Emily, my therapist, was really friendly and professional. She showed me to one of the 13 rooms and talked me through the treatment before leaving me to change and get comfortable on the bed.She started with some light body brushing, before applying the scrub then the hot milk. Once my back was done, she asked me to roll over to my front and repeated the process. Next came the fun part, she wrapped the tin foil (yep I didn't mention this part, but I was lay on tin foil underneath a towel, I expected some kind of clingfilm Dexter situation - luckily not!) around me and gave me a pressure point facial. It was so relaxing, I almost thought I was going to fall asleep. All the hot flannels and oils and the relaxing music - it's definitely something I could see myself doing more often! After the facial nearly sent me to sleep, Emily gave me a scalp massage (as if I needed any more excuses to have a nap?!) and left me to relax for a couple moments.I was a bit nervous about the treatment, but there's really nothing to worry about. Emily didn't see anything and even if she had, it's nothing out of the ordinary. If you're wondering, yes, you are topless but you're covered by a towel and you have some super attractive disposable underwear too. (I wasn't sure I really wanted to mention that part, but hey, it's all part of the experience and like I say, it's nothing she hasn't seen before!)Would I go back? Definitely and I think next time I may book a little Spa Experience day and use some of the facilities too! They've got some great Christmas packages up on their website at the moment if you're looking for a gift for someone special, or feel like treating yourself!Obviously, I had to opt for fruit tea after my treatment...
