Happy Tuesday Lovelies. As a fashion stylist, it's part of my job to always pick the pieces and products that will flatter and compliment my clients the most and to be honest I find that very easy. Though as strange as it may seem, self-styling is a whole different ball game and understanding your own features and "flaws" is not always as easily navigated.
We all at some point have had an item in our closet that we loved and just had to buy but it didn't really do the most for us when it came to actually sporting it, this gray scuba top was mine. I bought it in the summer but never really got round to wearing it (or I should say wearing it out). It's an awesome top, don't get me wrong but it has the tendency to make me look top heavy, think Mr potato, so I've been avoiding it until now.
Even though every item isn't for everybody, there are sometimes ways to get around those unflattering pieces. For this gray top, I decided to wear a white shirt underneath as without it, the cap sleeves made me look like I was going to the gym, and although I would have preferred a puffy grey tulle skirt to balance out the top and bottom, the shades didn't work together so well so I went with leather pants instead.
In the end the look came together, as simple as it is, and although some poses highlighted my initial worries, the final posts do the top justice, in the most non-obsessive kinda way of course. Enjoy! TL. Xx
