New sponsors, new athletes and new approaches for 2014- The SCOTT-ODLO MTB Racing Team presents its future concept.
After 13 years of involvement, the “Swisspowerâ€ sponsorship comes to an end for the SCOTT-Swisspower MTB Racing Team. Many titles and victories were won under the SCOTT-Swisspower flag- including quite a few World Champion and World Cup Overall victories. Now it’s time to present the future of the team. With Odlo as the new title sponsor of the new SCOTT-ODLO MTB Racing Team, team owner Thomas Frischknecht found more than just a replacement: “We are excited about this strong partnership that will accompany us towards the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. Odlo is a great brand to present. My history with them goes back to 1994â€, says Frischi.
World Champion Nino Schurter is the boss in the peloton and the face of the team. He will definitely rock WC tracks in 2014 and hopefully cross finish lines like we know him.
It is a strong sign that Odlo wants to move quickly in the design of cycling clothing. CEO Jonas Ottosson tells why: “We are pleased to continue this inspiring and successful partnership, which offers mutual benefits to both of us. We are passionate in everything we do, so is the SCOTT-ODLO MTB Racing Team. We both can only be truly competitive if we constantly give our best, and aspire to always be one step ahead. With this commitment we are not just underlining our expertise as a manufacturer of premium sportswear. This sponsorship also give us the opportunity to emphasize a close cooperation with the pros in developing outstanding products.
"We are super excited about our new strong partnership that will accompany us towards the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro / Brazil in 2016." Thomas Frischknecht
The team also welcomes “Cornèrcardâ€ as one of the main sponsors. Cornèrcard is a leading Swiss credit and prepaid card company, which will launch a SCOTT-ODLO branded fan credit card soon.

New addition to the team is a familiar face: Jenny Rissveds. The 19 year old Swedish champion was already supported by our team in the 2013 season. Besides winning two world cup titles and the European championship in the Eliminator discipline, she also integrated very well into the team. More than good reasons to welcome her aboard.
Clockwise from top: Jenny Rissveds with a clear mission statement. Already on SCOTT at this years` WC Vallnord. Jenny and her SCOTT Scale 700 RC. Swedes are well known for partying- after her Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) gold medal race at the 2013 European Championships.
Frischi on the first woman on his team since 2004: “She impressed me with a very strong racing mentality. Something that is pretty unusual at her age. I believe she has it all to become a star of the scene in the very near future.â€ Jenny adds to this: “I grew up with my brother and his friends being the only girl. It’s not a problem being the only one in a men’s team. To develop further I want to learn from the best. Therefore I can’t ask for more than joining the SCOTT-ODLO team.â€
On the other side, the team did not re-sign the contract with junior rider Manuel Fasnacht. We wish him all the best for the future of his career. The rest of the team roster with Nino Schurter, Florian Vogel, Marcel Wildhaber, Andri Frischknecht and Robin Gemperle will remain the same.
