New to the cast of HBO’s True Blood for the upcoming season 5 is Scott Foley (Felicity, Grey’s Anatomy). Foley plays Patrick, former platoon commander of Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe). The two embark on a storyline that has them tracking down former members of the platoon in order to resolve a mysterious event that took place in Iraq, and continues to haunt Terry.
Whatever that mission is, Foley says it does not involve nudity or sexual adventures for either Patrick or Terry. While the storyline requires a great deal of physicality – running, jumping and fighting – it’s all done completely clothed.
“Something happened between the two of them in Iraq that needs to be dealt with. I can’t say what it is. It has nothing to do with vampires or werewolves. But there is a mission that they need to complete.”
Foley suspects that at least part of the reason he gets to keep his clothes on, is that both Patrick and Terry are completely human; not a common condition for characters in True Blood. Because of the large number of supernatural beings that are in the popular HBO show, Foley says that the first thing he’s asked when he discusses his role is what his character is. He assures us that Patrick is indeed, 100% human.
“I’m not a vampire, I’m not a werewolf, I’m not a werepanther, I’m not a fairy, I’m not a shapeshifter. I’m just a guy coming into town trying to finish something he started back in Iraq.”
What do you think, Trubies? What could this mysterious mission be? Just under two weeks until the Season 5 premiere!
