Scott & Amanda. A Fresh and Beautiful Barn Wedding by Kate Robinson

By Jax

When photographer Kate Robinson told me today's couple Amanda and Scott first met in Primary School, I was instantly smitten! Having won a Science competition as kids, their first photograph together ended up in the local newspaper! (you can check it out next to the cake at the end of this wedding! TOO CUTE!). Held at The Red Barn, this wedding is filled with fresh summer wedding inspiration with a dose of quirky diy and rustic love. Enjoy!

"Our wedding was really laid back NZ country with a touch of green. Scott is really into photography and spent months on our wedding invitations which was a stop motion video that we sent out to our guests on printed DVDs! He also had cameras set up over the whole wedding (including a spider cam above the lolly buffet) and has put together a stop motion video from these." "Kate our amazing photographer set up a first look for us on a beautiful property by lake karapiro which meant we got to spend some special time together just us, it meant we were so much more relaxed at the ceremony and that we could spend more time with all of our guests instead of being away taking photos." "Red barn was an amazing venue and the food from Kerr & Ladbrook was amazing. We began the dancing with a bit of a twist on the original waltz by getting the bridal party to join in and having a 'mock dance off'." "Scott and I are both really into scrabble so we had a bit of a theme going. All the guests place names were scrabble tiles and our Mc's ran a competition where each table had to use the letters from their names to make the highest scoring word - the winners got first turn at the lolly buffet. Instead of a guest book we had a photobooth where guests kept one strip of photos and put the other in a book with a note. This made for some great reading after the wedding!" "Scott and I are both massive sweet tooths so we had a dessert buffet and a lolly buffet. The dessert buffet was a real joint effort with my mom making 5 pavlovas and I made 150 cupcakes (my specialty) the day before the wedding. We also had an amazing macaroon tower and two green ombre cakes from girl on the swing."
