The Supreme Court yesterday (Jan. 07) allowed the hearing of four Fundamental Rights petitions filed against the recent imposition of Emergency Regulations, curfews and the social media ban. The petitions were allowed to be heard on the grounds that the relevant procedure may violate the Fundamental Rights of Article 12 (1) 14 (1), a, c, g, h, guaranteed by the provisions of the Constitution.
The hearing of the petition is scheduled to begin on July 15. Objections to the petitions were asked to be filed on or before May 20.
