As the offspring of a musical Ma and a musical Pa, it’s no wonder the twin sisters of Say Lou Lou are naturals up on the stage. This time around, said stage was a little larger (the band’s first two NYC shows were at Baby’s All Right and Mercury Lounge this past spring), but the dynamic duo and backing band had no trouble working it proper. Still no “Eclipse” — a prime track that seems to have been banished to intra-label purgatory — but we did get early gem “Maybe You”, which dates from their days as Saint Lou Lou, and winning renditions of album standouts “Games For Girls”, “Beloved” and “Julian”. Needless to say, the crowd at the Bowery ate it all up and stumbled home smiling.

Fresh-faced newcomer Phoebe Ryan was all smiles too, as she eased through an agreeable opening set that included her blog hit “Mine” and several numbers yet to see release. If you’re feeling the new wave of electro-pop from strong feminine personalities (à la Halsey, VÉRITÉ, EVVY, et al), you’ll find plenty to love here as well.
