Summary:

Jenna is a woman on the run—hunted down by her ex-husband, David Merrick, from the day she left him, taking part of his company with her, to the second she finds herself in the safety of Jack’s ranch. More than just a haven, Jack’s offering the love, family, and home she thought were out of reach.

Jack’s support will give Jenna the strength she needs to reclaim her life. The hunted will become the hunter, while David gets what he deserves, when they have an explosive confrontation in the boardroom of Merrick International. But not before Jack and Jenna enter into a fight … for their lives.

My Thoughts:

This is a really great book. Jenna is the kind of character that most women want to be. Well they don’t want to go through her trials and tribulations. Because Jenna’s ex, David, is obsessed with her. Even though they are divorced, and all Jenna wants to do is to go and live her own life, David only wants to posses Jenna. He hunts her down each time she runs, and he gets more and more violent when he catches her. Its at the point where Jenna has created a ‘Kill book’  a document of all the things that David has done to her. Since Davids’ family has money and buys off anyone who can hurt David Jenna has no trust in the police or in anyone but her lawyer Ben. Ben is Jennas’ lifeline, he is the one who get her the things she needs, he handles getting her set up in a new location when she is found. With the divorce settlement and her own smarts and luck Jenna has no money worries, hey you have to have something going for you right? After the last time David found Jenna she knows he will kill her if he catches her again, so Ben sends her to an old friend who can provide a safe retreat for her. Jack is an ex military person who turns out to be just what Jenna needs. He is there for her but not clingy, and he shows her love and compassion time and time again. With Jack and Bens help it is fun watching Jenna finally have what she needs to stand up to David. Even with all she has been through Jenna is a compassionate sole, and while she is like a wounded animal and slow to trust others when she does watch out. Jenna takes care of those who take care of and help her. I love that about her, that her ex did not completely ruin her trust in other people. Jenna is a very smart and resourceful woman, which is why I think most woman want to be like her. Though what she goes through is horrible and is something that no one ever should be subjected to. But seeing how she handles her self, and how she keeps standing up and fighting back makes you really root for Jenna to win her battle against David.
