Save the Great Barrier Reef

By Garry Rogers @Garry_Rogers

The Great Barrier Reef is a global treasure, home to more than 1,500 species of fish, 411 types of hard coral, 6 of the world’s 7 species of threatened marine turtles, and more than 30 species of marine mammals.

But its future is in jeopardy. Over the last several years, the Queensland and Australian governments have fast-tracked mega ports, permitted shipping superhighways, and allowed the dredging and dumping of millions of tons of sand and rock into the Reef’s waters.
