It’s been so sunny but not chilly of late I can’t help but think of beautiful spots on the coast. Back in the beginning of 2015’s non winter I was lucky enough to spend a great day at Saunton Sands Hotel. Saunton sands is a beautiful sandy beach in north Devon. Several miles long it’s overlooked by Saunton Sands Hotel which sits astride cliffs which run perpendicular to the beach giving it great views of the beach, the dunes behind the beach and Westward Ho! in the distance.
Saunton Sands Hotel is spectacular 4 star Art Deco hotel and more importantly for anyone likely to be reading this wedding venue. The day I spent was part wedding fair, organised by the excellent Blue Fizz Events, part drinks with friends. Thanks Matt and Tania (hoping I got the spelling right), purveyors of the most excellent non booth photo booth setup I have encountered in all my travels in wedding stuff. Followed by a moonlit run on the beach with myself, thanks me! No torch, the sound of the waves, beautiful sand, such a tranquil way to end the day. Actually the wedding fair is part work part catching up with amazing and inspiring wedding peeps and friends.
Saunton Sands Hotel is also one of the venues I’ve illustrated. With the art deco, the coast the sand, the cliffs, the sky, so much inspiration to draw from!
Some of the great people who were there I and took some photos of their stand! Obviously Matt Stockman Photography.
Charlotte Atkinson of water colour weddings fame was painting near my, she really is super talented and love it when our paths cross.
Mel from Maxi Photography was there and conducted the on the day photo shoot.
Holts jewellers were there, I thought they were new but when I went to the stand I realised it was a rebranded Coopers Couture. They really do know their stuff and have a stunning display.
The vintage powerhouse that is Days of Grace was also in attendance.
Casino Select, Mandy’s great fun, was lucky enough to be by her at an event in Abode.
You can visit Saunton Sands Hotel website here. At the time of writing the Saunton Sands collection hasn’t made it onto the website but pricing is identical to the Coast collection. It actually started out as a design for this that suddenly became very very Saunton
