If you visit here at all regularly, you may know that I try to put up a painting every Saturday. It started with Women Reading, soon spread into Women Writing, and those are still the sort of foundation of it all. But there's a lot of lovely things out there and sometimes anything goes. I totally missed last Saturday but here's a nice one, two days late. This is by the great impressionist painter Edgar Degas (1834-1917), and it's called Actress Before the Mirror in her Dressing Room. He was most famous for painting ballet dancers, and many of those will be familiar to everyone. But I'd never seen this before and I really like it, so here it is.
